Dallas Baptist University is a world-class educational institution located on a 293-acre campus overlooking Mountain Creek Lake in southwest Dallas.

The university's campuses include the main Dallas location along with locations in Frisco, Hurst and Mansfield, TX.

Dallas Baptist University was founded in 1898. At the time, the Christian liberal arts college was called Decatur Baptist College.

Today, the university offers 60 majors, 18 master's degree programs and two doctoral programs.

Dallas Baptist University is praised for its seamless integration of biblical faith and traditional learning.

Dallas Theological Seminary has deep roots in Dallas and its foundation as a theological institution in North Central Texas.

The seminary was founded in 1924, and is based on four pillars of study: Biblical studies, theological understanding, ministry skills and spiritual life.

Dallas Theological Seminary offers students a four-year Master of Theology degree and is well-regarded in training high-profile theologians throughout the years.

After it was accredited in 1969 as a four-year theological college, Dallas Theological Seminary has gone on to train notable leaders. In fact, three Dallas Theological Seminary alumni were listed among the Top Ten Most Influential Living Preachers List, according to a recent survey by LifeWay Research.

Dallas County Community College District is a network of seven community colleges in and around the Dallas area. The district is the largest of its kind in the state of Texas and offers more than 100 different career training and associate-degree programs to students.

Established in 1965, Dallas Community College District is also highly tuned into the local business community. The college offers specialized, custom training to prepare and train the workforce to meet the needs of local businesses. Training programs vary from one-day public classes to specialized sessions that can be held in-house at Dallas-area companies.

Paul Quinn College

Paul Quinn College is a private, historically black college in Dallas, founded and affiliated with the African Methodist Episcopal Church.

The college has recently underwent a $2 million capital improvement program, along with a renewed focus on its lauded business program for students.

Paul Quinn College was founded in 1872. As the oldest historically black college in the state of Texas, Paul Quinn College provides a liberal arts education that also integrates a Christian perspective of the world. The college welcomes students form all faiths, and encourages students to use their education and connections to become active servant leaders and global citizens.

In 1990, the school relocated to its current campus in Dallas and enrolls about 1,200 students every year.

With a renewed emphasis on creating new leaders in business and beyond, the college has recently instituted a business casual dress code for students.

University of Texas Southwestern Medical School holds the honorable distinction as one of the Top 20 medical schools in the United States. Among the areas of study where the medical school excels, UT Southwestern's biomedical research program ranks among the best in the world.

University of Texas Southwestern Medical School is located in the 231-acre Southwestern Medical district. The campus also includes the UT Southwestern Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, UT Southwestern School of Health Professions, and four affiliated hospitals: Parkland Memorial Hospital, Children's Medical Center, Zale Lipshy University Hospital, and St. Paul University Hospital.

Founded in 1943, Southwestern Medical School began as a wartime medical college. Today, its 60-acre campus houses classrooms, labs, the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center Library, an auditorium and a large outpatient center.

While noted for its academia and talented faculty, UT Southwestern is also one of the five least-expensive public medical schools in the United States.

Notable faculty members include 18 who are in the National Academy of Sciences and 19 members of the Institute of Medicine.

The University of North Texas at Dallas is undergoing a major change, transitioning from a branch campus to a free-standing university with degree-granting status.

Founded in 2000, the University of North Texas at Dallas was originally the flagship campus of the University of North Texas. The college originally offered upper level courses and graduate courses in education, business, criminal justice, applied arts and sciences, computer science, information technology and mathematics.

Now the university is the first public university within the city of Dallas.

Undergraduate programs are still diverse, yet focused on emerging fields and exciting new areas of study.
